I am very fond of red semi-sweet wine, it is the only alcoholic drink that I use. However, this happens very rarely and no more than half a glass. I grew up in a family where my father was an alcoholic and our whole family suffered from this addiction. We went through hunger, cold, and even slept on benches if he got drunk and turned us out on the street. I do not know how my brother managed to send my father to undergo alcohol rehab, but for more than five years, he does not drink alcoholic beverages, he is even ashamed of the days when he drank

I guess I'll add to my post after a few years. I am increasingly enjoying double hop IPAs and stouts as I grow older. The more bitter a beer, the better. But ales and lagers are still great to drink.

Have you tried Voodoo Ranger or Elysian Spacedust? Both are 7-9% ABV and 50-70 IBU. Relatively strong and bitter.

I have tried Voodoo Ranger. I am a fan of the Lost Coast Brewery Fogcutter and the Lagunitas super cluster right now. I'll have to check out the Elysian Spacedust some time. Thanks for the tip.

I've tried some that were pretty cheap, only to be very disappointed.

Lagunitas is good as well. Not a big critic or anything, so I might not even be able to tell one from the others.
