right ive never done this so forgive me if im repeating myself. @mothered

when you say this i would be returning the amd box with the seal intact not ripped maybe looks a little tampered but quick glance none the wiser with the new cooler but not with the amd chip? in a box with a rip and taped up. ? ---- i also have another amd cpu cooler exact same model just old and dirtier the plan was to swap it new for old and as theyre the same weight it wouldnt be mismatched would it be better to keep fresh cpu fan in there for the method to work better?
As the ryzen box has a cut out where you can see the cpu in box from the outside not like intel would it still succeed
and even when returning back to amazon what reason would i give back as it would not contain the item and some reasons allow the need to open and check as ive read

As such, It gives the Impression that your Item was stolen before the company received the package.

right i was asking specifically as i wanted to keep both new items (not a big deal if i have to only se the cpu chip if its easier) return the old cpu cooler and continue with what youve guided by giving one of the reasons however if thats more obvious id rather just stick the new cpu fan in return and only get the chip.
these are option when trying to return the item by recent orders
Accidental order
Wrong item was sent
Arrived in addition to what was ordered
Found better price somewhere else
Performance or quality not adequate
Unauthorized purchase
No longer needed
Incompatible or not useful for intended purpose
Missed estimated delivery date
Missing parts or accessories
Item is defective or does not work
Description on website was not accurate
The item is damaged but the box or envelope is undamaged
also this would be using the amazon order refund not through live chat yes? as i had already claimed eb and my old chat will reappear
again im just confused as to what steps to take next as ive seen so many different methods tried to eb and was told weight was correct before sent and when delivered PR is needed to investigate, then was ready to return with sealed box without cpu as i managed to open seal without ripping.... until you told me it would end not in my favour plus a few more and after if you mess up a step you cant go back without it looking fishyy thank you again for being patient as im a big newb

ah i see ive been looking non stop past few days brains been running non stop ive been thinking the reason i was confused as to what u was saying is cause i was reading this other person that basically involved no SE'ing had just simply returned a old one weight was same and was overlooked or claimed it was missing in product bunch of ways anyways, now im thinking of your boxing method so id return to amazon saying price cheaper somewhere else or no longer needed and return it send it to post mail get weighed whatever, they recieve it and as cpu is light it doesnt get registered then claim i had sent it correctly but obviously we know the rip in box is to help my excuse they will see this and then issue refund?.
now supporting this having the old cpu fan in there would look dodgy when they check or whatver im not sure what process is , so i should keep new one in there and carry on with the excuse of i had sent it properly with cpu

hey @mothered , so my quick question is could I get away with returning a 1.5 for a 5ft cable? I had bought a 1.5ft hifi usb-a cable but it was just too short and decided to just the 5ft one also. Does the cable get back to the original seller or just the closest warehouse? Will they actually pull it out to measure the length?

so i would use the same live chat thing not the default return method and claim eb for the cpu only in the box tell them the cooler was the only item in there, seems like its to obvious after saying didnt recieve twice and asked if damage was done to box said dont think so, to then say oh my brother had taken it in confusion and returned it back however there was no cpu inside they will probably deny me this right? and then ask for a police report again as they did in the start which i was trying to avoid when you mentioned to then do the boxing method as the eb had failed when they said weight was checked before and on delivery- trying to se with the least information like a pr as such

considering the methods been said EB and Boxing would boxing not be the better option considering my situation and as the item is £168 on sale usually £279 would they not ask for a pr again for the cpu if i try eb that this time again as its considered high value ish

Your brother could've been away for a few days, or perhaps totally forgot to tell you until now - anything could've happened, hence It's not up to the representative to judge your family affairs.

As said, EB/box the CPU - It's light enough not to be detected on any shipping scales, thus they cannot decline the claim based on weight.

in your personal experience which would be more feasible and less to come back flagged or suspicious as ive already said in chat about eb for the whole item itself to then say ive managed to get the item but its missing the cpu keeping in mind i convince them. and if i remember you mentioned something about if you say eb with something like cpu you would have to contact the manufacturer or something
or other method send the semi tampered amd cpu box without the cpu but with new cooler through boxed method with the rip in outer box and taped to look like it was taken instead

read your blog again mentions when using the boxing method with mid to high value items will be asked for a police report again and even when claiming the eb with just the cpu will they not also ask again for a police report for both methods..?
