Hmm. I'm very new to this kind of thing; I have Windows 7, and I was wondering if you could use Hamachi to set up a MitM attack with Cain and Abel. Is that at all possible? Sorry for posting on this thread 4 months after the last post :\ I doubt I'll get a reply.

Hey, I did a few experiments with this but without success, I mean, such vulnerability would be a huge issue in Hamachi. I don't think Cain and Abel are capable of doing anything, but why not give it a go Smile Report back if you find anything, it would be interesting to see Smile

Well, I've tried using it before... I manage to get their computer listed from their virtual peer ip and and I have the default gateway 25.0.0.1 listed, I'm also the host of the hamachi network. I'm not quite sure what to do after I have those two things though I can't get anymore ip's listed and the APR is giving me the error: "Couldn't connect to HTTPS Acceptor socket"
So i'm guessing Cain and Abel isn't a plausible solution to the problem I have. I'm just looking for some way to get this person's password without having to contact them, get them to download anything, or anything of that nature. See, what happened was this guy stole a facebook page from some very close friends of mine, and he has stolen countless pages from other people. I just want to hack into his facebook and give the rightful owners back their pages. I don't think a keylogger would work, I cannot contact him and I very seriously doubt he would download the file anyway. I also don't know how to disguise the file or crypt it so his antivirus wouldn't protect against it. I'm at a loss here and I really need to figure out how to do this.

Well C&A won't do much as I said. Also, we are strictly non black-hat community and your intentions are black-hat (just a little warning Wink )

I didn't think that was black hat seeing as I was planning on retrieving and giving back all of the stolen pages? I would have considered it more so towards being grey hat, borderline white hat? Giving back to the people what was rightfully theirs is not a malicious thing...

The definition of black hat hacker is as follows: A "black hat" hacker is a hacker who "violates computer security for little reason beyond maliciousness or for personal gain"

You could look at it and say: Well hacking a facebook is still hacking a facebook.
You could also say: He's not doing this for his own personal gain, he's doing it to help people out

By definition that makes it grey hat.

It is black-hat : You are attempting to steal information in an illegal way for personal gain. It doesn't matter what you do with the information later, if somebody steals something from you, you ask the authority (in this case Facebook) for help Smile

Anyway, that is too much off-topic so I'll have to end this discussion, there are many threads on what is considered black-hat and what not Smile
