Silly question; MyBB of-course.
1. Because it's an open-source forum software.
2. Because it's free.
3. Because it's easily eligible to use & put in your website.
I wouldn't buy a vBulletin license because it's ridiculously expensive, and who would really buy it when there are a million of other free alternates?

Some prefer vBulletin - and if someone sells it at a pretty decent price, I think there would be a few people who'd at least be interested.

I was re-iterating it since you said "who would really buy it when there are millions of other free alternatives?"
Some will buy it. There are people who prefer paid over free, even though the free is better.

For the money, it's a fantastic software.
You'd only complain about the costs, if you can't afford it.
I bought it and used it and used it for many years. Fantastic software that easily utilized if you know what you're doing.
People say MyBB because it's free.. Yes it's a bonus. However, paid software is 'paid' for a reason.
