I understand now.
Your school should Implement proper protocols and only provide keys where warranted, and not just give them to anyone who asks. You could've been anyone off the street, asked for the key and go about your ways thereafter. In the end, their lack of security worked In your favor.

I actually social engineered Astro A40 TR tags.
I bought a lot of stuff together, such as keyboard and stuff. Then I bought some custom tags for Astro A40 TR and just said I did not receive it when on live chat. The rep apologized and instantly sent a new one to my house
These things are like $40.
