Got reply from support on monday asking if I had the chance to examine package before accepting it. Told her it was left at my door unnattended.
Also requested pictures of the package and damaged camera, was able to have someone photoshop damage + battery leak.
It's kind of a success. The issue is this : She wants me to open a case with FedEx and provide her with the phone number. After that, they will issue a replacement.
I will ask for a refund instead. But this is the first time a company is requesting me to open the case with the shipping carrier. Any advice on how I should proceed?
Also, if I do have to open a case with FedEx, what should I be expecting from them?

She got back to me already. Here’s part of the message I sent:

What I can say without a shadow of a doubt, Is that when a damage report Is raised or should It be questioned by opening a case, companies well and truly have the capacity to address It. FedEx has been liaising with their partners for decades In that fashion.

Pursued the claim with FedEx Canada and FedEx HongKong. The last e-mail was from a FedEx CA representative telling me he had forwarded the information to their Hong Kong unit. If anything else was needed, he would be in touch with me. He suggested that in the meantime, I should contact the company to ask for a refund or replacement.
I sent the e-mail to the customer service support as an attachment, she replied that FedEx is waiting for further confirmation because the package might've been damaged by a car crash after delivery (what...?). She mentionned FedEx is going to check their cameras to see if there was a car crash after the package had been delivered. How does that make any sense.
From my understanding, it seems as if they are trying to deny responsibility and say it has happened after the package was delivered (caused by a car crash. Wtf?).
What is your take on the situation @mothered ?

In all my years of social engineering, I've yet to experience such a lame excuse to stall the claim. When you receive their reply, we'll tackle It from there.
