If you're going ahead with the EB/missing Item method, It's fine to collect It.

yeah im going with EB method, thats fine im collecting it in like 2 hours. Speaking of EB, the item comes with a smartcase/cable as well as the headphones, do i say that none of it was in the packaging box, or nothing was in the item box?

got the airpods today, went on the live chat with apple and this is what they said:

"I will submit an internal request to the courier, so that the matter is thoroughly investigated , our request will be reviewed within 2 business days, then once there is any update available you will also be informed. The soonest there is an outcome, you will receive your replacement" and:

"you will receive an email asking you to reply with 6 pictures of the box one of each side, and a police report as part of the investigation process."

seems like its going well, all that i hope so anyways @mothered

The carrier Is not on-site, so they've actually submitted an "external" request.

It's not Important, I'm just correcting their wording.

Apple has opened an Investigation (which Is not what you'd want to take place), as opposed to neglecting to cross-check the consignment and approve the claim.

Perhaps this Is an Indication of complying with company policy, whereby they'll be Investigating claims from this point forward.

It's likely they'll use the Item weight to decline the claim.

As such, you'd need to make the box appear as though It was tampered with, hence the AirPods were (seemingly) stolen before the package reached your address.

I’ve done a pair of AirPods with John Lewis, first time account and used the EB method. They opened an investigation and gave me a call out the blue A few days later asking about the situation and he accepted it was a warehouse error and issued a refund.
