Ugh, what a mess.
So I went to fill a police report at my local police department, and they are refusing to do so.
Their reasoning is that since I never got the package, I was never stolen from. And since that's not a crime, they won't fill a report.
But Amazon is not budging and says that they won't do anything unless I give them the police report, regardless of what the police said.
So I'm at a stalemate.
I've been talking to different reps all day and they are all programmed to say the same thing: "we can't do anything unless you submit the police report"
I asked to escalate my case, they told me to contact them tomorrow in a specific timeframe so that they can do so.
So it's a mess. If Amazon won't budge I'll have to find another police department willing to fill my police report.
I'm absolutely fuming at the incompetence of Amazon, and thank god it's just an SE. If it was a real case I'd storm their offices.

They rejected my police report because the pages weren't numbered.
