So, this is for VirtualBox. The three things I changed were: I disconnected the Floppy Disk then added the network in settings. Then when creating space for the ISO, I made the virtual machine to have 20GB instead of the default 8GB. This must've caused an overflow of cache and expanding uncompressed files for the installation, this explains crashes happening at around 75%,

I'll replicate this when I get home with VMware, but I'm now certain this is why it was happening.

Good to read. You should be good to go.

I always set the VHD on the VM to 20GB at the minimum (depending on what I plan to Install), and Increase the Ram anywhere between 3-4GB. I have the hardware to well and truly run maximum specs on quite a few simultaneous VMs.

yes I know when I set any vm's lower than 20 GB there is always some type of error.

It depends on the Installation.

If you're Installing Windows XP, you can easily get away with 10GB. And that's plenty.

As for hacking, you can use a Pentium 100 (so to speak).

why I ask about a gaming pc right. because I will be pulling a lot of tasks and resources to run like 3 or 4 programs at once. Smile

Just to give you an Indication of the resources I'm running and consuming, I have 6 VMs operating simultaneously, 80+ browser tabs open and my IDS actively monitoring the network.

Holy fuck your computer is a beast

It came with a hefty price tag though- close to 3k, but worth every penny.

No Issues running everything I've tried thus far.

I use two shitty laptops for coding and cracking. I got em on the cheap for $30 a piece, maxed out the RAM, overclocked the CPU's with brute force voltage regulation, and got to work.
Rick and Morty have yet to let me down. Things are a tiny bit slow, but with all the ways I have them wired, rewired, VPN'd, proxied, and keeping them as out of touch with the modem as possible, lack of speed is a simple thing and to be very much expected.
Install SELinux with an XFCE desktop environment and download the tarballs to install the Kali Linux tools and no matter what computer you're on you'll move fast enough for what you need to do.
