What makes you think they changed the key? The app has not been updated since December 10, 2016 as you can see here https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.atlaswearables.ionic.androidwear&hl=en . The api secret is hard coded into the app.

He probably
a. Has issues with his Python install
b. doesn't know what he's doing
c. screwed up the SE and he thinks its because he used an old API key
you can't do it at all without the API key

One year of service and 2 posts, kinda answers your question right there if he messed up or not. I myself suck at SE online, in person I can talk you into buying snocones during a blizzard, that is why I haven't bothered trying to get this (other than I rarely workout).

Hm, not sure, just tested it out. API seems fine. What are the first 3 and last 3 characters on the API key?

The API is the same, all because of the fact that the login and password I wrote caps
