You've resurrected a 4-year-old thread.

That aside, I personally take a multi-vitamin that (supposed to) have all the daily requirements. I noticed a difference In my overall well-being after 6-8 weeks.

I don't take a vitamin C supplement as I get plenty of it in my diet. I eat kale and broccoli almost every day and have a few oranges a week, but I recommend a multivitamin to anyone that's not getting all their nutrient needs through diet alone. It can honestly make you feel better, being deficient in certain vitamins and minerals will surely make you feel like shit.

The supplement I do take is Vitamin D3, especially in the winter months. I've struggled with seasonal depression the majority of my life and turns out it was because of a lack of Vitamin D due to little sun exposure during those months. Highly, highly recommend!

However, apparently you can technically "overdose" on Vitamin C.

This is the part that bothers me.

I don't want that.

I have stopped my vitamin C addiction as of today since I've had the diarrhea, but that might've been from the fruit sundae I had.

Good day.
Eveyrthing in mass quantity can overdose you, even water

I cannot say enough how useful the above advice is. I normally take multi-vitamins, which include not only Vit D, but K2 which helps your body absorb (for want of a better word) the Vit D. Generally speaking, nobody needs as much Vit C as is supplied by Vit C supplements. Scientists have advised that you will likely just pee it out. Also, Vit C isn't actually as useful to your immune system as other vitamins. It's worth googling and seeing what vitamins do, and where you can get them from in actual food. Then supplement what you're not getting.

It's also worth mentioning, you probably should be wary of supplements with iron etc in them. Consult a doctor for recommendations.

This is also true. You essentially drown yourself (but via your blood not your lungs xD)

Oh balls. I never knew this. Everything has to be consumed in moderation, even the "good" stuff.

You didn't know it because it's not true.

You can't "overdose" on ascorbic acid, your body takes what it wants and excretes the rest in your urine. Usually your body will absorb about 300mg a day, so taking 10g a day is going to put a huge stress on your renal system. You can avoid the kidneystones by either
1. Not taking way too much when you don't need it (I commonly take 500-1000mg a day)
2. Drinking enough water to compensate for the excess

As for multivitamins, etc, avoid them entirely. The QA in them (at least in the US) is nil. If you assay each dose, you'll often find that a supplement that should have 50mg A and 50MG B might have 100mg A and 0mg B.
For important things like vitamin C (ascorbic acid), just buy it plain. I generally use powders so I can mix a bit into my coffee or water (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01HFOJBG2)

For Iron, just avoid those completely. The iron you get from those is usually made from plants, and your body won't absorb most of it. Just have a steak instead.

So what happens If you take 100,000mg In a space of 15 minutes?

Your body takes what it needs, the rest gets filtered by your kidneys. Though with that much I'd expect you'd change the chemistry of your stomach.

Do the kidneys have the capacity to filter such a high Intake?

Absolutely, but you'll get the mentioned side effects as it prioritizes what it has extreme excesses of. Kidneys need water to work.

Got It.

I just wanted to clarify the effects (If any) of an extreme Intake, and you've explained It perfectly well.
