I'm going to be really blunt here and probably not give a good impression on myself but this is personal opinion.
Now, I couldn't really care what happens to the animal before it gets on my plate. Now, this is the weird part. If it's animal abuse on an animal which is going to be killed for food, for some reason I'm fine with this but when it comes to an animal which the intention is not to kill and eat it, for example domesticated pets, I hate this more than anything. Just an opinion.

That's somewhat understandable - animals need to be killed for others to eat, that's just how it works. It's just that people think of it as inhumane when they torture, abuse, or otherwise poorly treat the animal before it's killed. Sure, it's food in the end, but does that mean that we can treat it any less than if it weren't?

I have a weak stomach when it comes to animal cruelty. Being cruel to animals has never been remotely alright.
