Everybody with a little bit of programming and administration skills can compile Linux kernel no Ubuntu Debian OpenSuse or any other shit. But if we talk about distro Arch because you choose exactly what to install, not like Ubuntu(for example) come with tons of shits. I haven't read MS Windows code so I can't say something about backdoors or anything, the same is about MAC OS and IOS. Android is quite safe but who knows.
