I personally haven’t but I have seen posts about it and I am planning on giving it a go myself, you can always send it back if the SE don’t work just make up a good excuse and try elsewhere.

yes, but I read through some threads and saw that Curry's seems like a hard one. Are you sure its doable what what are the best methods?

Probably yea, and depending on which company your doing you might require a bit more then S/N alone, like POP some require photos of the concerned object and the S/N visible on it, but all this can be done through photoshop.
As silly as the question may seem, what does S/N and POP stand for?

The wrong Item received method tends to work a lot more often than not.

Tbh if you ain’t really willing to take risks I would avoid doing any SE
