For future reference, a collection point has no relevance to claiming an empty box.

That aside, as stated, the phone Is too heavy for the EB/missing Item method.

Why didn't you hit Harvey Norman, Officeworks or JB Hi-Fi?

What kind of methods are successful for Harvey Norman, Officeworks or JB? Don't normally see Aussie stores on SE platforms @mothered

Maybe wait a few weeks and see if the IMEI comes up as clean then sell it?
That's pointless imo. The phone can be blacklisted after a day, a week, a month or not at all.

If you aren't going to use it yourself, I would either sell it or make an In-Store SE with that phone.
Well the chances of it getting blacklisted as time goes on significantly reduces. I see the first week or so it being highly likely to get blacklisted.

For example in NZ (could't find enough info on Aus) they can only blacklist a phone within 30 days of the lost/stolen incident occurring. Hopefully it should be fine though anyway, I didn't include the serial of IMEI on the PR either.

That would be a lot of effort sealed boxing a whole new iPhone to have the exact same product but just not a potential blacklist.
Unless there was another method you were hinting at that I'm missing?

Mostly the sealed box, and also the wrong Item received method.

Do you think doing these in-store has the best success rate?

What I meant is go to a local store and buy the same phone model legitimately.
When you're home you only swap the Phone for the one that you EB'ed.

Go back to your local store and return the product (make up an excuse).
On the first glance they can't see if it's the right phone, only when they power it up and compare IMEI / SN with the one on the box.

Absolutely.

That's what my previous post Is referring to, In-store SEing (which I should've mentioned).

In the last few days or so, Apple have started to thoroughly Investigate claims for missing goods.

It may be an Indication of tightening their claims management.
We'll play It by ear for now.
