I forgot to mention that Apple has a hidden policy called a "one-time exception" per account.

What this means, Is that they will refund/replace the Item without requesting the return, nor any other type of evidence that's usually required to assess the claim. It's predominantly based on the rep's discretion, hence you'd need to push hard to have the exception approved.

Thankyou so much for this add on!

So if Im chatting, should I mention this too the rep?

If the rep refuses to budge with approving your claim, that's when you mention the one-time exception.

The shipping option has no relevance to the method, so yes, you can opt for either one.

It's too heavy for the missing Item method.

You can opt for the DNA, wrong Item received or If the packaging Is suitable, the sealed box method.

Yes I have, on Items within the EB's weight bracket.
Just seen this and I was wondering what the weight bracket is

In terms of the EB/missing Item method, a maximum weight of 120 grams.

Is there any reason why EB doesn’t work on items heavier, also is it the weight of the box (eg aipods packaging box) or just the item itself (airpod case and pods)

If an external Investigation Is opened by the company, they'll cross-check the weight recorded at the carrier's depot.

Heavy Items will register on their weighing facilities, hence the Item's weight will be detected and It could not have been missing.

In terms of the AirPods, It's the Item Itself - "net weight".

If the shipping/gross weight (Item & packaging) of other products Is less than the missing Item method's weight bracket, you can claim the lot was missing.
