Got it, just received the replacement today, sad I can't use DNA again because the delivery driver made it even easier this time. Question about the missing item method first, should I mention that the seal on the SSD box was broken or should I say it was intact, for legitimacy sake? I'll start the claim today and update this thread as it progresses.

Don't go Into more detail than you have to.

Just say that It was missing and see how they respond to that.

I would've hit them with the missing item method first and then I would have used the DNA. I think this combination in this order would has a better chance to succeed, but anyway, it's just a feeling. Let's see, we are here to help you.

Just finished speaking to a rep and he agreed to refund me the full amount. Checked my orders page and it says the refund is processing as of today, guess it was a success. Thanks for all the advice, @mothered ! However, I've read posts here that some DNA/missing item claims were later disputed and some were re-charged again or not refunded at all, so I'll keep an eye out just in case. I'm thinking the reason they were so compliant with my request was because of the sheer volume of packages that were placed/delivered these past few weeks. I really hope the hatchet is buried here and the claim isn't brought up again, but I guess only time will tell.

Otherwise, I hope this thread will help whoever else wants to do anything similar to what I've done!

Definitely, wasn't planning on double dipping until the carrier dropped it off at night, which is hands down one of the easiest claims of DNA that I can think of. The latter half of the SE was going to be the initial method, which seems to have succeeded so far, but I don't want to count my chickens before they hatch.

I got an email from Amazon after I spoke to the rep, that I didn't see until just now, which is a little confusing/worrying. The email reads,

"Hello,

We're sorry to hear that you haven't received your item from order #...

It appears that Amazon Logistics has recorded your package as delivered on Wednesday, December 2, 2020. Please check with your neighbors or members of your household to find out whether they’ve taken delivery of the package on your behalf.

Please allow 3 days while we investigate this matter. If you haven’t received your item by December 5, 2020 please let us know.

Thank you for your understanding.

Best regards,
Amazon.com"

I'm very confused by the wording of this email, this makes it sounds as if I said it never arrived. I mentioned specifically to the rep that I spoke to, that the SSD itself, not the package nor the box of the SSD, was missing. I was thinking about talking to a different rep and asking further details about this email, and if need be, specify what I meant that the previous rep may have misunderstood. Would this be advisable or should I just wait and see what'll happen?

EDIT: I received an email saying my refund has been processed, however, in that email, it said, "Reason for refund: Item not received." It doesn't say, "Missing Item," I assume the rep interpreted the SSD missing from it's box as a DNA claim...? Should I try to clarify this, so this doesn't come back to haunt me later if they investigate with the carrier or since the refund has already processed, am I in the clear?

^ When you receive an email of this nature, the SE Is heading In the right direction, namely because they're still Indecisive as to whether you've received the package as per below.
Quote:Please check with your neighbors or members of your household to find out whether they’ve taken delivery of the package on your behalf
If their records verified the delivery, they wouldn't be asking to check with the neighbors or a household member. Be sure to take note of this with future SEs.

Do not take It any further- your refund has been approved, and that's all that matters.

Well done.

That makes sense, I assumed it was just a template email that they send out whenever someone claims a package never arrives.

Got it, that takes a huge load off my back. I'll be less concerned once I get the refund and it's confirmed by Amazon. Now that I think about it, this was more of a DNA thread rather than a partial/missing item thread, lol.
