What is the job then? receptionist? while Help Desk may be like that, anything beyond it is going to need experience and /or certs to even get a call back. why hire you for entry level when they can probably promote form within, something ever company strives to do , especially for IT, as it usually pays more than other department and a much better working environment, so if no other IT employee fits the bill nor any other employees is trying to get it, then whoever they do get is def going to have certs or experience PS.
