Are you planning to purchase the PS4, and SE the company by returning the PS3?

yes ... but I already mentioned it in a thread previously

Did you try it out? If so, how'd it work out?

not yet ... but honestly with ice I don't think to try ... as soon as I have the money I text the ps4 replacing it with the ps3

I always try to advocate learning how to SE instead of refund when you don't have the funds. It requires no investment, though it is a bit more work than a refund.

I totally agree ... but I return the ps3 because it is broken XD

It wasn't clearly stated, so I wanted to clarify It.

So the goal is to place the PS3 in the PS4 box and make it seem like PS4 box is unopened?

This Is also what I believe the OP Is referring to.

If so and the box Is perfectly sealed as per the manufacturer's packing and without any signs of tampering whatsoever, It has a pretty good chance of success. Of course, the Item weight will need to match.

Ideally you would want it to be within ~50g of the original package weight? Well, ideally exactly the same, but max amount of error ~50g?

Just use some coins and glue within the cardboard packaging to perfect the weight. Personally I'd rather spend 5 minutes more and have higher chance of success than be lazy and leave a 50g window either side

Smart. I'm thinking why even place anything broken inside. Find some dense materials and just fake the entire weight. Wonder what material would be good for filling weight like that. But yeah, I definitely agree, those few extra steps are what can differentiate a successful and a failed SE.

yes ... I want to try this method because I have various objects such as PCs and televisions that don't work ... it would be nice not to throw them away but to reuse them Biggrin

Yeah, I used to get a lot of broken electronics having worked in an e-waste sorting facility and my boss being super chill letting me take whatever I wanted. I got a bunch of stuff replaced with fake receipts. I never really thought to get better things with the same broken products.

I have many objects that I have at home are reconditioned by me ... the PC I am writing with now comes from a landfill XD...however I was thinking of another method ... if I took an object (suppose a ps4) and I sent it back saying I had the wrong object and I fill the case (with ice or other material to match the weight) would it work? obviously the item taken with SE cannot be sold
