No problem, all good. It's a lot easier If you purchase the Item, particularly AirPods. They're extremely light and barely register a weight on consignment, so the "missing Item" method (you've received the box without the AirPods) will work. RE: Ask me anything about SE!! - titchyyyy - 02-16-2019 I have a question on how carriers work and the DNA method. How do you go ahead with the DNA method? As far as I remember the last time I had a genuine item that didn't arrive, Amazon basically told me that they had investigated with the carrier and the carrier had confirmed that it's been delivered and they would not be pursuing my claim any further. This was for a genuine DNA before I even knew about SEing. If the company come back & say the parcel was signed for and the tracking shows it has been delivered to my address, how do I even reply to that? Do the courier companies actually contact the driver? What if the driver specifically remembers coming to my door and me signing it? It's my word against theirs but the courier company will have the tracking successfully delivered to back their side up. I'm just very confused about the DNA when most companies use couriers that have signed for / tracked services in the UK. @mothered could you possibly answer this for me please? RE: Ask me anything about SE!! - Jarnisto - 03-11-2019 @mothered could u answer the previous question please because I would like to know the answer too if u don't mind. RE: Ask me anything about SE!! - mothered - 03-12-2019 Quote:If the company come back & say the parcel was signed for and the tracking shows it has been delivered to my address, how do I even reply to that?It doesn't mean "you" signed for It, hence didn't receive It. I've experienced so many Instances, whereby the "driver" signed for the package due to being In a rush. Throw this at them and they can't deny It. If It's not your very own authorizing signature (random scribble), you're not held accountable for receiving the package. It could've been a passerby who accepted and signed for It. Quote:What if the driver specifically remembers coming to my door and me signing it?Firstly, drivers deliver so many packages on a daily basis, so he won't remember some random delivery that's of absolute no Importance to him. And If he does remember, word-of-mouth Is not enough to justify a delivery. Do drivers get penalized/fired when that instance arises? I mean, if the package figures as "lost in transit" because you scribbled a fake signature and then claim that you didn't receive the item. It's not possible to speak on how each and every company Is structured, and the handling of their Internal affairs. I'd say a warning at the minimum will be given. RE: Ask me anything about SE!! - titchyyyy - 03-12-2019 Based on a friend who works for Royal Mail (UK's main delivery service), he says in his contract that he MUST ask the recipient to sign a name and not allow them to scribble etc However, he said none of the post office workers listen because they just want the parcel out of their bag or van so they can get on with their day. I would assume that the Royal Mail workers here do not get docked for items that go missing as he never seen any 'punishments' during training. Maybe it's different for UPS, Parcelforce, Fedex, though. RE: Ask me anything about SE!! - H3RR3S - 07-18-2019 1. When you go to a vacated house, they will ring the door but you don't have access to the house so how will you do this? 2. How do you know if a company is going to bill you when you SE them? |
