FreeBSD is better than Linux, IN MY OPINION. Linux distributions are operating systems based on a kernel, but FreeBSD is an entire operating system altogether. In my opinion (do not forget the fact that this is purely my opinion), FreeBSD is a more clean and stable project than any Linux distribution due to the fact that it is an entire operating system. Therefore, the FreeBSD team has full control over the kernel and every part of the project. This allows the operating system to connect and come together in a clean, stable manner. The Linux kernel is developed separately from the actual distributions, which means that the kernel and actual operating system do not connect stably (again, this is only my opinion). FreeBSD is also, depending on how you look at it, easier and quicker to install than many Linux distributions. It has many good features, and there is still tons of software compatible with it (most Linux software is compatible with FreeBSD).

I am not hating on Linux. I think that Linux is wonderful, but I personally love FreeBSD more. If you truly want to have very deep control over your operating system, and become better and help yourself to learn more about computer science, and improve your problem solving skills (FreeBSD can come with some problems on the desktop, depending on your hardware), get FreeBSD. It is a clean, stable operating system that is secure, fully open source (more open than Linux due to a more open licence), and beautiful.

Master FreeBSD. You will become the God of Hell.

NICELY SAID. I am natively based on NetBSD.

P.S: This applies to all popular BSDs.... in the general sense.
