It was about once a month. We sure as hell don't have a painless solution, but there's a "wonderful" transparent alternative called invisalign that fits over your teeth like a mouthguard. My friend started with that and paid $300 to switch because it was way more painful.

I have heard of Invisalign, and often asked myself whether It's just as effective as traditional braces.

I had braces in Jr High. Hated them. Hated the retainer even more.
