RE: How to scan/remove malware - bmchris - 07-21-2013 Thank's for this tutorial bro. Actually, I'm using Spybot Search and Destroy to detect malwares, and I'm wondering if it is a good tool? Thank's for replying.

RE: How to scan/remove malware - lady_godiva - 07-24-2013 @bmchris That is a generic malware tool. Of course it can be used to detect known types of malware. However as it was specified in the post there is no 100% method to detect and remove them as their complexity and ability to hide depends on the single malware. @drvijayy2k2 Just using generic malware tools most of the time will lead nowhere. The sandbox approach is a very strong and effective one and it is always recommended as it allows you to monitor the malware behavior in a controlled environment where the malware can't cause damage to the system. Notice also that sandboxing approach is best when used before installing / running any software, otherwise the malware might already have executed his payload RE: How to scan/remove malware - lady_godiva - 07-24-2013 @bmchris That is a generic malware tool. RE: How to scan/remove malware - chupacabra - 07-29-2013 @bmchris SpyBot is a good tool but if i were to choose between that and Malwarebytes I would surely choose Malwarebytes every time. As mentioned before, VirusTotal can scan suspected files, but it can also check suspected URLs as well. I am sure this has been mentioned already but thought I would say anyway. RE: How to scan/remove malware - x_h0rr0r_x - 07-29-2013 My suggestion would be to use linux...If you are a diehard windows user i would suggest Avira and comodo firewall+ comodo sandbox RE: How to scan/remove malware - chupacabra - 07-29-2013 (07-29-2013, 01:28 AM)x_h0rr0r_x Wrote: My suggestion would be to use linux...If you are a diehard windows user i would suggest Avira and comodo firewall+ comodo sandboxthe only thing i hated about Avira, unless something has changed, was that annoying popup all the time trying to get you to buy the full version. detection rate was ok though.
