Btw i think this thread is a bit offensive because every language is special in its own ways. So it's only Windows compatible, you don't use .NET Frameworks on Mac or Linux. RE: AutoIt vs VB.NET - Raziel - 11-26-2011 I'm not a big Microsoft fan, but I just stated in my previous post that you CAN develop .NET applications using its' native languages for Windows, Mac and Linux compared to AutoIT which is - at least for now - Windows dependent. That's not exactly native .NET Frameworks though, I know there was a kit for C# to develop in .NET Framework for Linux, but I forgot where I posted that on another forum. Its one of the easiest and powerful languages. Damn, now I wanna learn AutoIt, I hope you are right, I found VB.Net pretty much confusing. RE: AutoIt vs VB.NET - ArkPhaze - 11-26-2011 VB.net is a very simple, easy language in comparison to some others i've used. RE: AutoIt vs VB.NET - DaPaus - 11-26-2011 I voted for VB.NET. Just because I never tried AutoIt maybe I will try it later. But can somebody make a propper beginner guide on Autoit, but really from where to find the editor to the first hello world program, maybe even further? You also have to remember, Autoit3 was originally made a scripting language and will never be updated to have true multithreading capability or object orientation, while vb.net is a full language and has the support of one of the largest companies in the world...while Autoit3 was made by some guy who wanted automation to be better because microsofts" scripit" or whatever wasa complete fail and had hardl nay usability. Random note: Autoit3 is coded in C++ |
