And how does that Impact your usability on the device?

Well, if it is blacklisted it cannot be activated, nor used because of restrictive purposes. iCloud and other default Apple services become inaccessible unless there is a way to hack it or something. Notamused

Why is that though? If it has a serial number. They can easily blacklist it from their system. Even though, there is search results that says Apple to claim for not being able to blacklist MacBooks but online cellular devices. Which is weird for the initial reason.
yes super strange. It was working for a few days at least then today when I tried to login ..password was incorrect for Apple ID and even with phone number code verification it would just bring me back to enter Apple ID and saying its linked .. and Macintosh Hd doesn’t load on recovery screen . Only options

So recently did SE on the MacBook Pro from C0stc0 .
I’m in a similar situation, my suggestion would be purchase the same item from somewhere else and then return the blocked one on that order
wouldn’t wherever you tried to return it to verify the MacBook upon returning? (Eg. Turn it on ) then they’d see that it’s stuck in recovery > activation lock? I remember I had bought a MacBook from b3stbuy a while ago when brought back in for return they opened a completely brand new sealed MacBook just to turn it on and see that it was working

Apparently, Apple does check their devices' usability upon return. Though, people have claimed to be refunded anyways under returning fakes and locked devices. So, l guess it depends on your luck.

PC dealers (behind the scenes) can unlock It.

There are heaps of stores In my locality that charge a small fee. Only takes a few minutes.

Doesn’t that trigger an alert or some sort of thing on Apple’s end that could jeopardise your personal details due to interpretation of theft due to unthorised use?

Not to my knowledge.
