Just woke up to the same situation as one of you above. Not a great start to my day.

Did a chargeback for an iPhone 14 pro -£1.2k, approved by my bank, dispute refund was issued a couple days after. Now, sadly, Amazon is denying receiving the parcel, Tracking shows as failed pick up from my house (as that's the only way to return 'high value items' to Amazon these days), I have the confirmation of pick up but due to what the tracking says, I have lost the case.

All the relevant information was passed onto my bank when I initiated the CB. What are my options, here? If I was to take out all my funds from the bank, what would happen? Would they chase me for this money?

Many thanks for any input.

I started an ODR but I am not confident on it.

Hello,

Can you let me know what happened after, please. I'm in the exact situation, as outlined above. Just looking to see what options are available to me.

Did you actually return the item, even if it is picked up they usually send a confirmation to email etc. f you still have the item well take the L.

Nothing you can really do if you lost the charge back because the bank will just put your balance in the negative. The bank is on your side but it's tough to win if you can't show proof of return.

No, I didn't send it back.
They did mention in today's email, that the merchant is willing to refund if the item is returned. Now, the issue being - the order is from February, so the refund window is closed and therefore I cannot pull up the return label on Amazon. I do however, have the tracking number of the parcel. I'm not sure if that is useful in any way, any ideas of what I could do?

Also, you mentioned that it's hard to win if I can't show proof of return - does the customer receipt not hold enough weight to be seen as proof?

You said you have no proof of it being delivered to Amazon or picked up by the courier (tracking progress etc). So what customer proof would you have?

If you had FTID for example (you would have tracking and proof of delivery) to supplement the case. Amazon would probably still fight it but a likely chance you win. Or if you refused delivery you would be able to provide tracking and proof through return portal, Amazon would see the order was returned themselves when they are gathering proof for their case and rule in your favor.

Not sure you can do much now and Amazon also will not refund you anymore once a chargeback been initiated.

The proof I have is what you would receive when the driver picks up the parcel 'customer receipt' - it has all the details of the pick up, and confirms that the goods were picked up. This was handed to me by accident from the driver, he wasnt paying attention, and instead of handing me just the return label, he also handed me the 'receipt of goods pick up' paper (I told him that I will drop the parcel off myself - that's why he gave me the return label).
Which is why I'm confused as to why the customer reciept isn't deemed enough proof?

In terms of FTID - if the label is still active, would it be worth carrying this out and dropping the parcel off? I had a UPS investigation open in regards to 'locating' the parcel, could I possibly play it off as "they have found the parcel" and delivered it?

Surely Amazon would have to return my money if the chargeback gets taken back by the bank and the goods are returned? (That's of course if I decide to send back the phone).

Yea, I meat to say customer service cannot process a refund once a chargeback been imitated but u can get your money back if the dispute is still ongoing after you return the item.

Oh receipt of good is interesting. I guess Amazon would still provide the logs for the order that shows item wasn't picked up or returned to them. I guess it's worth a try though.

BTW the courier gave you such an easy SE route but it required you to act immediately then.

I had acted upon it in the first month. I thought the exact same thing - the courier had set me up a perfect SE, which shouldn't be a problem. But unfortunately, it wasn't that simple.
Amazon refused to process my refund without having the physical phone at the warehouse, made me file a LIT claim with UPS. UPS then denied to proceed with the claim without Amazon's cooperation as they are the contract holders... So I was left in between these two companies, going back and forth with them both for over a month, and that's what led to the CB.

Get a different bank account and just keep the money there for a while or just report your bank card stolen and get a new one. On the next month 20th day I will get a result of chargeback, but I think it should be a win without a doubt.

If I was to pull all the money out of that account, what kind of response can I expect from the bank? Will I see this account go into a minus (it has no overdraft)? Will this impact my credit score?

Any further insight is greatly appreciated.

yes, your CC or debit will have money owing. It will affect your credit score if you just leave it unattended. if it ends up in a lose, at least you know now and everyone holds an L at some point. You can sell the phone for 75%-80% of retail price if you want.

What that poster is suggesting only works for fake accounts or VCC.

Thanks for confirming. I'll have to take this L and look for ways to make this money back.
