You need to make an excuse to send it back if the return time is not past.
The excuse may not be good, just Say that you find it and the culprit was one of your relatives, I wouldn't put much details as long as they don't ask them.
Ask them if you still can return it as you don't want it anymore.

You can create a fake report with signature etc, that was working fine with apple and 1-2 months ago my bro did the same with meta. Just don't let it look like a fake report.

Thanks.From what others have said you just tell them that the brown box arrived empty, the people who said the brown box contained the quest box but it had no quest inside it were asked to submit additional pics of the quest box and the serial number etc. They still got their refund in the end it was just a bit more work.
