RE: Phrase(s) that you hate hearing? - Nox - 08-11-2013 "Everything happens for a reason" - because that's so not true. What can be a possible reason for, for example, a three year old kid dying of cancer? Or for a woman becoming a widow a day after her wedding? And more importantly, is that phrase seriously supposed to make anybody feel better? Because it's not working. I won't just accept that there are supposedly some reasons for all bad things happening and that it's supposed to make it all right. RE: Phrase(s) that you hate hearing? - twistedyees87 - 08-11-2013 I absolutely hate when people say, "At the end of the day" it drives me crazy and makes no sense RE: Phrase(s) that you hate hearing? - Amatenshi - 08-11-2013 "I don't mean to sound <discriminatory against some group>, but..." All too often, the other half sounds indefensibly derogatory. |
