@mothered As I'm still to receive any emails regarding my attempted refund, I'm thinking to se a pair of AirPods off amazon then returning them to Argos, potentially in store? Or do you think online refund would be best thing to do after failing initially.

Argos are quite difficult to deal with and for the most part, do check their returns.

Are you planning to simply return them for a refund? If so, you can use the sealed box method and substitute the AirPods with anything of the same weight.

The latest was speaking to an advisor on the phone and he said he would get the fraud team to email me more information about why they aren't accepting the refund and suggesting I go to the bank. - Haven't received an email or anything since.

Yeah I was going to simply return the pair I get from amazon to Argos, to get my Argos order money back and then I should be able to se amazon with ease.
Not really too fussed on doing the sealed box method as I'll be happy enough to get the money back from Argos full stop haha.

It's a good idea. Just make up a good excuse for Argos on how you eventually found the airpods.

Well If that's the case, you can add any Item of equal weight.

The objective of the sealed box method, Is for the return center/Inwards goods to scan the box, place It back Into their Inventory and Issue a refund thereafter.

Been awaiting a refund from amazon... and holy shit I've failed my second SE now. Seems a joke considering I've SE'd amazon since I was like 14 and I've only just had my first failure now. Again, said it wasn't in the box but apparently this isn't working now.

I've read in other threads that you recommend to just get a police report done, what do you suggest?

There's a lot of discrepancies In their message, but of Importance Is: "we won't be able to provide a replacement or refund for this order at this time".

The operative words are at this time meaning they're still In a position to assist at a later stage. And that's by way of obtaining a police report. As you can see, It's part of their protocol to move forward with your claim, so go ahead and file one.

I'm not sure to be honest man, I had never failed an amazon SE; I have done the following (£850 laptop, £700 in PC parts, £300 headphones, etc) in my past time of numerous amazon accounts therefore expected to smash this SE no problem.
Also, due to apple packaging I didn't trust myself to seal the box perfectly again.

Have just filed a police report so will keep you updated, thanks so much @mothered

'Good afternoon
We need some more information , where was the parcel sent from , are they wishing you to report this as a crime or was it just an accident and the item was not placed in the box . We don’t give out reference numbers for lost items. Are Amazon conducting their own investigation in relation to this and are they going to replace the item for you?

Thanks for your prompt reply,

The parcel was sent from an amazon warehouse I am assuming as it doesn't say anything else on the order details.
Regarding reporting it as a crime or not; they said if I believe someone intercepted the package then yes I should report it as a crime but no one intercepted it as it was delivered to me personally so I don't believe a crime was committed, the only issue has been that they were not in the box.
