Every claim Is accessible by all reps, and notes are taken by each one In readiness for the next representative who takes over the claim. So probably best advisable to be persistent with my initial excuse of it caught fire. Or get a different serial number? Both are equally effective, so opt for the one you're most comfortable with. You can keep the same. If they ask about it, mention how you were trying to sell it on <auctioning site> a while ago (note the date) but decided to keep it. And I personally don't like giving up on an SE until I know for sure it's failed. I would just keep going - tell them that the garbage men have disposed of it while you were away at work. That's a very intense reason. Most monitors don't catch on fire. Interesting. I had a really easy experience with them until they retracted the package due to internal investigation not passing. I would assume if you have the legit info and.a drop, Dell is still easy without issue. I decided to persist with the initial excuse of it catching fire, as I went to the serial number look up page on dell once again. entered mine and played around with all the options, eventually I found one that stated that my serial number had an open case. Thus my initial concern, was indeed correct. Therefore, I began trying to find ways of providing photo evidence of this "fire". I realized that on one of my current outdated asus monitors, the power supply cable and port look extremely similar to the one on the Dell monitor that I am trying to SE. A chefs blowtorch, disconnected fire alarm and 10 minutes later I have my photo evidence proof of my £500 Dell gaming monitor catching fire ![]() However I seem to have not been able to get in contact with their customer service department after I got home from work (as per my story). Even tried calling an hour before their "supposed" closing time, but got the automated message to call back tomorrow. (no one responding on the whatsapp chat either for some reason). Regardless, ill try update tomorrow if anything new happens. RE: Which products easy to scam with SN? - Filament - 06-18-2020 (06-18-2020, 10:31 PM)durden666 Wrote:Yup, that sounds right. Would you mind sending me a PM of the picture(s)? I'm sure it'll be very helpful for future reference.
RE: Which products easy to scam with SN? - H3RR3S - 06-19-2020 You guys know other companies that dont require you to send anything back? That you can just se with the SN RE: Which products easy to scam with SN? - Filament - 06-19-2020 (06-19-2020, 02:25 AM)Malcom Wrote: You guys know other companies that dont require you to send anything back? I've gotten multiple companies to offer replacement without sending back anything even though their company protocol "requires" me to send the item back. That's the fun part of SE, imo

Is it perhaps easier to do it over telegram/wickr/signal? Just DM me and I'll sort you out. Now in regards to my Dell monitor endeavour... The rep asked for pictures of the monitor. I replied with three photos. One of the serial, one of the fire damage and one of the front top side view of the monitor (all but the fire damage one were obtained from the auction site user, and exif wiped). Immediately after sending these I followed up saying that I am proceeding to drive to the recycling center to dispose of this monitor, as it's clearly Extremely unsafe. I'm not clued up on technology thus I want to remove it from where I live as soon as possible incase it happens to catch fire again. I'm already rather shaken up over it, nevermind my young son and wife. The rep replied with the following: "I am glad your family is well and safe. This is not a common issue. I will need to have it further reviewed before we can let you know what caused this to happen. Could you share a picture of the complete back panel of the monitor as well? Also, which system/device were you using this monitor with? " I said that I would have sent him this angle if he asked initially but I already took the monitor to the recycling so I don't have it anymore. And that in using win 10. I also kindly asked if there is anything else I can help him with. The last reply k received from the rep is as follows: "Good morning, so the monitor is already brought to recycling? Will you be able to retrieve it somehow? For an exchange we would like to receive the old monitor back." Currently trying to come up with an appropriate response to this to get one for free, without sending mines back. Or agree to an advanced replacement and send dry ice. *EDIT* Contemplating perhaps using reverse psychology, such as saying I don't even want a replacement, I can afford a new one, I just want to know why it happened so I know wether I should not get a Dell monitor again, as if it's a common issue for them clearly I can't have one as it's outrageously unsafe. However I feel this would work too well and they definitely will not send me a free one.... Any suggestions are welcome 😁 |
