Make It clear to them that a package that's marked as delivered, does not conclude that It was personally received. Also, keep emphasising that FedEx Is responsible for loss of goods due to their Incapacity to obtain a signature, thus cannot verify the delivery.

I tried several times through phone and email and no go, giving me hard stops wherever I go. Was even ignored via email. I’d use PayPal but I feel like it won’t go well as I have a DNA on file (PayPal switched my Billing Dispute to a DNA for a different transaction not SE related, without my permission). Will a chargeback via a CC matter if I paid through PayPal or should I go through PP anyway?

Although you've paid via PayPal, your credit card holds the funds and was (obviously) debited, so you can perform a chargeback.

Submitted through credit card, going to be a long battle my friends.

Persevere with the process, and It will result In a successful outcome.

And indeed it was, forgot to relay back but the CB was a success. Appreciate all the guidance.

You're very welcome with the assistance provided, however you did all the hard work with making It happen.

This clearly demonstrates, that perseverance and being adamant with the SE throughout the entire process, will result In a successful outcome.
Well done.

I wonder if anyone has successfully SE'd the Microsoft Store?

I'd much prefer to not have to do a charge back, as that is last resort, but I am planning a Microsoft SE, and even, if in this case, the signature was not taken, Microsoft, clearly took the courier side and word over the buyer. If that is the case for most SE, then maybe it's best to avoid Microsoft?

I am going full steam ahead with my plan, so we will see what happens.

When the claim was declined, what was their exact reply?

I am referring to the OP's description of the failed SE with MS. He was eventually successful but only after a lengthy chargeback.

I am just wondering if it is Microsoft's policy to take the side of the courier over the buyer, even when signature is not required or was not taken, as in the case of OP''s attempt. (this is a few months old thread btw).

RE: Help SEing Microsoft Store - renold458 - 08-03-2020

This is indeed the case. Microsoft will investigate with the courier. FedEx, even with no signature, "confirmed" the item as delivered. No courier is going to tell MS they did not deliver, so MS will then side with them against you. I wouldn't recommend SEing MS even with a chargeback, not worth the risk.
