This , common sense prevails. Amazon might not be the smartest when it comes to human exploitation but they are definitely not brain dead. Any claim that a package weighing over 5 pounds is missing its contents while claiming that the packaging is pristine is asking to get btfo'd by customer support.
Next time , make sure to actually apply the method based on your situation instead of doing 1-1 what someone else has done here. The claim of untampered package with the contents being empty only works on extremely light items that weigh less than 1lb.
My Amazon account will get locked if they find out that it's a false claim right?
No. What usually happens is that Amazon will tell you tough luck and to take further investigative matters to the carrier.

It depends on the representative you're dealing with.

Meh.
It depends on the representative. I've had a few times where the representative will send for an 'investigation' but I believe sometimes it is just hearsay and they're just saying that to delay things or they can't be bothered to deal with things. It's never been investigated for me personally, despite them saying they will do it.
I've had a representative tell me they can't help me other than for me to return the item for a full refund and there is no option for replacement or refund - only for 10 minutes later, a new representative to create a replacement for me or issue an advanced refund.

They emailed me today saying that they can't refund it to me unless I show them police report regarding this incident.

IMO, you did it all wrong anyway. You didn't use the DNA method OR the empty box method, you went in between the lines of both and you've given your self more work to do.
You can talk to the police and try and get a crime number, which you can then give to Amazon and they should refund you. But it depends on how confident you are.
Personally, I'd contact Amazon, tell them that they sent you the wrong item and you want to return it for a refund. Send them back something 'stock' that is sold/dispatched from Amazon with a similar weight and you'll get the refund easy with no other questions asked.

ALWAYS go with somebody who uses the Amazon scripts, as they are usually new to working at Amazon and usually won't defer from the script, which always tells them that the customer is right and you should do everything the customer asks. They will ever rarely check that you've contacted them before.
The more experienced representatives usually type out their messages and are more personalised with you.
Scripted representative:
"Hello Xname, thank you for contacting Amazon! I am Dragon! Thank you for being an Amazon Prime member! Am I talking to Xname?"

Isn't it going to look a bit suspicious when you go through 5 reps in 2 minutes? Or can they not see that?
