RE: What OS are you using? - echo_blini - 05-08-2021 My current daily driver is Linux Mint 20.1, because my Walmart laptop's Elan touchpad wasn't getting along well with my favorite distro, Manjaro. Suits me well enough though. RE: What OS are you using? - fire - 05-09-2021 kali. its usefull plus i can just run windows 10 in vm RE: What OS are you using? - Request - 05-10-2021 (05-09-2021, 07:52 PM)vrag Wrote: kali. Seems you're doing the exact opposite of what the developers of Kali intended. Kali does not receive security updates as often as mainline linux distros, along with the default primary user being root leaving a massive security hole incase of malicious software. Request is saying you're using Kali for the wrong reason. Kali is much less an everyday-use operating system and much more a toolset that you pull out every other thursday when you need it. It's like a swiss army knife, you use it when you need it, but you don't use a swiss army knife to make a tuna casserole in the kitchen. If you enjoy Kali to the extent of using it every day, it might be worth trying Debian (which it is derived from). It's possible to add the repositories for the tools that Kali uses and only install the ones you need. Overall Kali and Backtrack have gotten a bad rep, because people aren't familiar with how to properly use them.
