Again, just thought the idea behind the Librem is a good one. Also never seen Apple invite people to run Puppy Linux or anything on their phones the way this company is apparently stating you can put whatever the smack you want on the hardware you get from them.
And your argument is factual, but it does have a hint of reactionary fanboyism to it. Sorry, just how the post comes across.
I just think Librem 5 is gonna be cool. That's all.

My argument is not to trust a product that comes out of the gate lying about its status. That list was also incorrect for Android, however I don't have the expertise to back an argument on that front, so I did not. To put all of this to rest, you can run whatever you want on an iPhone, in fact there have been dedicated projects to doing just this. https://vimeo.com/2373142 is an example. Also, you can't claim an argument is "reactionary" when the argument is based in fact and presented only with such facts, however I do see some fanboyism in this thread, just not from my side.

Whatever this operating system becomes is a story for another day, but today the fact remains that so far they've simply tried to reinvent the wheel, and then lie about their accomplishments in order to gain a market share.

Nobody cares to run other OSs on iPhones but it has been done previously. It may be cool, but I don't like that they're blatantly lying on their page.

This is my entire point. I could maybe get on board if their adverts actually checked out, but they don't. They're just trying to make (what they think to be) an improved BlackPhone (https://www.silentcircle.com/buy-blackphone2/), but in the process, they're just alienating their entire market for it. Anybody who values security to that extent, would know all of the security features their phone provides to them, and would see straight through this facade.
