It is 100%. undoubtedly bullshit. Let me be clear, I've worked at three of the listed stores. We have policies about this stuff because assholes come in and try to do a "double-dip." It's basic SE bullshit that pisses off companies and is not limited to store giftcards. We have a million plus ways to look at your giftcard and honestly, if someone came in and tried this with me at any of these stores, I'd run the card, pull a history and start pulling information like, "Hey you already used this, why do you think it doesn't work?" or "Hey you bought this card, but haven't touched any of the money, why don't I take this card and get you a new one that 'works' ".
This method might ( less than .005% of the time) work at some stores but I would never ever call this method "high success".
Lastly, I just want to be clear in saying that it's not my goal to bash this user. All I'm trying to do is to let people know that this WILL NOT WORK and OP's doubling down on his theory is causing me to "explain in more detail."
You really want to know a good SE, go slip in a puddle inside of one of these stores, look somewhat realistic, and sue. YoU wIn GoOD JoB!
