I also used it so that I would have access to my home network on the go, which is what VPN's are actually meant for.
I'm gonna actually look into that. I may setup a local file server so I dont have to lug around a USB just remotely access it with a VPN.
That's the way to go. Or, if you're only going to access it from one place, just open the windows SMB ports on your firewall for that specific location and access it through the UNC path.

I may not access from just one location so vpn is the best option most likely

If you are asking others for advice on selling something it means you are doubtful
I wouldn't resell it unless it was a well known VPN as there are tons of resellers of shitty ones and tons of free ones

Yah, I'd honestly research and go into something more profitable on the current market. Something not many people do.

Selling for profit: no, not in this case
Giving it away for free: hell yeah, if you have extra bandwidth you should. At the very least it would boost the popularity and value of the product.

I'd personally avoid it as I don't want to deal with legal stuff. I'm lazy and irritable.
