Just some constructive advice. There's ambiguity with your thread's title and nothing relative In your Initial post. As such, It can be Interpreted as either requesting to be upgraded (at no expense of your own), or asking how to become an upgraded member.
I see the latter In this case. @" Skullmeat" has provided the Info you need.

I'm not sure why he was poorly received, so I reset his reputation (something I rarely do). He purchased Silver earlier.

I believe it was a severe miscommunication and seen as him begging and or trolling, I might not be fully correct, but i'm glad he got what he was looking for.
