I live in the US, have an Amazon Prime account that has  been in good standing for well over ten years now.
just ordered a new motherboard for my PC( GIGABYTE AORUS GA-Z270X-Gaming 7 Gaming Motherboard) for $229.99, which was delivered by UPS today.  As no one was home when the delivery was made, the package was left on my front door step.  I live in a small community, and the drivers have never had issues with this area, thus leaving my package out in the open.  I realize this should be pretty straight forward as far as getting a refund, but I was curious as to how long I should wait before communicating with Amazon.  Because I have alerts sent to my phone the moment the package is delivered to my address, Amazon will see that it was delivered.  My first idea was building a story off of a stolen package, as truthfully, a good amount of shady folks walk right past my place on the sidewalk during the day and they know that  I am a PC enthusiasts .

I have Skype, and i am willing to speak with anyone who can help me out, and if it comes down to it, I would be willing to allow a professional to handle this for their cut.

EDIT: I was also curious as to how long this process usually takes, if everything goes accordingly?

Just load up their live chat and talk to them. Make sure it's 24 hours after your parcel has been delivered.

If you act maturely and friendly you shouldn't have problems as a first refund on a well reputable account.

TThanks, x1000.  My main question was the proper amount of time to wait before I contacted them regarding my package not being where UPS stated they had left it unsupervised. As I actually like UPS, I would like to try and keep them as far away from this as possible. Like someone said, it's not good to piss off the drivers that constantly bring your deliveries. I think it may look better on my part if i make an inquiry to their local office and confirm that the package was delivered, but not mentioning that it was missing. If Amazon brings this up, I can be truthful and say I had spoken to them about it.

I've got the same question/issue with OP.

I live in a flat with a concierge and they sign off on all parcels received.

In order for me to actually receive the parcel, I'll have to go to concierge and sign off my own parcel.

I believe this renders the Amazon refund/return method impossible?

The concierge will always sign for the parcels so Amazon/Courier knows it's never left unattended. And there's no way anyone else will get the parcel because only the owner it's addressed to can sign off and retrieve the package.

Does anyone have any idea?

Thanks!

In general, this goes out to everyone, if you are for whatever reason uncertain or anxious of refunding an item which has been signed & delivered under your real information along with your main amazon account, do not attempt to cheat them. It is honestly better to pay a small % to someone experienced who would log in on a VPN to attempt the refund as you could always play the 'my account was compromised' account. Then again a VPN takes away a bigger chance in a successful refund. If anyone needs help/information/advice/labour feel free to message me through PM, will give my best opinion through my experience.
