Ironically, this Is what the sales rep said to me when I was looking at purchasing a new cell phone.
Sure, he's a salesman and more so tells people what he wants them to hear, but a couple of friends have also said the same.

I'd suggest getting a Moto G5 Plus or Moto Z Play. They're both decent phones and offer great Camera.

I stated that this is my opinion and I would not recommend any Apple product to anyone, but you should decide for yourself.
Read what other members have to say on this thread, maybe that will help you decide if you should get an apple or not.

So... I guess this leaves you with the Samsung (If these are your only two options).
I have always like Motorola phones, I suggest looking into them, the battery life is just so much better than most of the other options out there right now (Droid Z sometimes lasting for over 24 hours of heavy usage).
My daily driver at the moment is a Moto G4+ which I love. It was only $300 and has an octet-core, 64GB ROM, 4GB RAM, and I've sometimes gone 3 days without a recharge (lite-moderate usage). Not bad for a "low-end" phone.

Don't get an Iphone. Wouldn't recommend an S6 either, you have better phones for that price. Try getting a 1+ or a Nexus.
