RE: Pen Testing - spirited_wolf™ - 03-15-2017 I'll say you should not use kali linux now as now it's versions after 1.1.0a are worst now it's having a lot of dependencies problem which will just give you problems, I'll recommend you to start with Parrot Security OS now. Personally, I disagree with your assessment if dependency issues. I've been running Kali on a laptop as the dedicated OS, and have not experienced any significant issues. The only minor problem I ran into was transitioning to the rolling updates. Otherwise it's been stable, solid, and functional. As always, YMMV. I agree. The only issue I had with Kali when I was using is as a daily was one update forced me into a Black screen of death. Don't know what happened but reinstalled Kali and worked like a dream after. Maybe you are that luck person from thousands who don't have any problem with kali linux.

RE: Pen Testing - Yaiba - 05-04-2017 Your talking about like pens for digital drawing right? It's basically where someone pays you to hack them, so they can see how secure they are and attempt to fix security holes. It's also known under the names of: Ethical Hacking, Red Teaming, PT, White-Hat hacking... Sure, It'll run on a VM without Issues, but nothing beats a physical machine for optimal performance. |
