When I got them on back in middle school, I had to get used to talking with them, as well as teaching myself how to play the trumpet for band class all over again. Now that I've gotten so used to them and have to readjust again, it sounds like I'm having a stroke whenever I try to talk.
Having more room certainly feels weird, but the retaining wire they put in behind my teeth is another level.
You play/played freakin trumpet, same dude.
But yeah, I imagine they're a huge pain. I came very close to needing them but for someone reason they decided it wasn't necessary

This x1000. I had mine off then forgot to wear the retainer. Teeth started going back to the way they were and I had to repeat the process. Ended up getting a permanent one the second time.

I've never had braces but friends of mine did, and they said It was an absolute pain. In the beginning It really hurt, they couldn't eat certain foods and the braces were just plain annoying. You must feel like a new person and a sense of relief.

Every time I got them tightened, there was at least 3 days afterwards where I couldn't eat anything but soup. Saying it's a relief is an understatement.
