If I could get Verizon FiOS 150/150 in my area then those speeds would be fucking blazing, I would estimate probably 18.7 MB/s (Megabytes are used in uTorrent not bits) RE: UTorrent Download Speed? - VirtualFrost - 09-03-2017 If it's a decent torrent with plenty of seeders I just get the same speeds as I would downloading a game. I don't get any difference in speeds with torrent as long as they're heavily seeded. In general terms, Megabytes refers to data storage and Megabit Is the measure of speed (transfer of data). The larger of which would still be the Megabyte because eight bits = one byte RE: UTorrent Download Speed? - Blink - 09-05-2017 (09-03-2017, 03:02 PM)mothered Wrote:(09-03-2017, 10:31 AM)Pyxis Wrote: (Megabytes are used in uTorrent not bits) Nah, that's just your ISP fucking with you. 1 megabit = 1/8 megabyte ISPs advertise their speeds in bits to confuse people. On top of that, there's also mebibytes and stuff, but that's not as big of a difference in size.. I was referring solely to the term "Megabyte" (per se) on general grounds- just like you'll read thousands of results when searching for It. https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/megabyte As you've mentioned, ISPs advertise their speeds In Bits, hence Megabits (as referred by the ISP) being the measure of speed. RE: UTorrent Download Speed? - Jordax - 09-27-2017 Mine just tends to jump around from time to time, Idk why though. RE: UTorrent Download Speed? - ZOM_BIES - 01-28-2018 i usually get around 1.5-3mbps. ik my internet sucks
RE: UTorrent Download Speed? - Korvidius - 01-28-2018 Update: I switched from Xfinity 25/5 to Verizon Fios 100/100. Torrent download speed is now 12 Megabytes instead of 3. If I would've gotten their (expensive ass) Gig Package which they offer here, and I downloaded Grand Theft Auto 5 which is like 60GB large, and that's without any updates, it would take approx. 8-10 minutes. |
