UPS is the one investigating not Corsair Memory. and i got a pink slip yesterday left on my door that says this. Dear customer i delivered a parcel to your address blah blah blah. But at the end it says Thefts from interstate shipments are investigated by the FBI. Every case of theft is taken in this manner. The FBI? For a 150$ item? UPS also called me and said they are having a UPS Investigator coming to my house tomorrow to sign some paperwork. This got very serious and this has never happened to me. I've done multiple DoupleDips. What should i be expecting? Im not trying to go to prison lol. Just do not open the door? RE: UPS Investigation? - mothered - 02-08-2017 So on what grounds have they deemed this as theft? You're not obliged to sign anything, so "don't" put pen to paper under any circumstances. Doing so, Is an admission of guilt which will work against you. RE: UPS Investigation? - Celeez - 02-08-2017 Well when UPS Called me they said they needed my signature to prove that i did not receive the package. If i back out of the SE now it will seem very fishy. But they are coming by today at 3 PM with papers for me to sign saying i didnt get the package etc. any advice on what to do. My buddy just keeps saying deny everything for the long haul and see where it goes. RE: UPS Investigation? - zorrophreak - 02-08-2017 At this point, you need to find a TRUSTWORTHY friend, and hide it at their house soon. Then when the UPS investigator comes, you don't have the product and you can stand strong on that you never got it. More than likely, regardless of their warnings, they will find nothing and either drop the case and you don't get your new product, or they will process your request. I would not sign paperwork as that is confirmation. Read through it if you must sign it and ensure that there is nothing that remove your right to make claim you never received the package. Might I ask though, did you have to sign for the initial package and did the UPS Delivery person give it to you, or just place it on your porch. If it was never signed, and not given directly to anyone, than your case is stronger as you can say you never received it. (Unless you said it just wasn't in the box, then you better hope your delivery man isn't a good friend. Because you either get to be destroyed, or you can throw him under the bus.) If you signed for it, then DO NOT use the same signature on this paperwork which would allow them to validate that you signed for it. RE: UPS Investigation? - Celeez - 02-08-2017 i never signed anything at this current time. They left the first package by the door step. and i reported it as lost or stolen and said i didnt receive it this investigation has been going on for like a week now. seems like they are getting serious with it. RE: UPS Investigation? - FurryRock - 02-08-2017 Well caleez, first step when in the situation is to stop asking advice of a forum, no matter how much you think this forum acc doesn't link to your real identity. Get a lawyer, and he'll tell you the same. As other's said. Do not sign anything, and do not do anything unless a lawyer tells you to do so. Since it was left, more than likely there is nothing to prove beyond a doubt that you received it. Just continue with investigation, never sign paperwork unless you find it justified, and you more than likely will be okay. RE: UPS Investigation? - Celeez - 02-08-2017 Alright well when the ups investigator comes just stick to the story of it never came? i just want to get the best advice i can. Well of course, stick to your story, admit anything and ya might just spend up to 5 years in prison. If they really try to push it or force you into admin. One of my friends work as a UPS Supervisor, I sent him a message for advice xD RE: UPS Investigation? - Celeez - 02-08-2017 Honestly i just want any advice I may be able to make something up and say my neighbor took it to keep it safe and gave it back to me but im not sure how well that would go over. |
