Arch is love and life of everything (i3, ncmpcpp, firefox, and vim included)

Nothin' wrong with that. Something like Manjaro is perfect for you lazy bunch Tongue

I think I'm going to dive into Arch in a few days as my first. Basically dive into Linux head-first and hope the water's deep enough.

goodluck! make sure to read the archwiki and beginners guide thoroughly. If i were you i'd use (and when i was in your position i did) an easier distro to start with. but more power to you!

Yeah man I've heard good things about the wiki. I'll definitely utilize it. And I'm sick of being a fucking pussy so I'm going own that shit and force this knowledge down my throat.

nice, just make sure to read it and follow the instructions and you should be golden. It's really not too difficult if you can do that.

RE: Reasons why I hate windows 10 - Bish0pQ - 12-20-2016

I have only had a few problems with Windows 10. On my laptop there has been pushed a random update which makes my Windows look ugly af.

On my main I sometimes get a kernel fault (BSOD), but other than that it's fine. A very light improvement on some games. I hate it they implement so much crap though, all default shit that gets installed, all backdoors that are open... They should fix that.

It's better than Windows 8(.1), which in my eyes was a pretty bad OS. My favorite Windows OS is still Windows 7.

What distro do you use? I'm on Kali just for the fact that a lot of tools are preinstalled that I can play or learn with. In my spare time, I want to get another distro and get deeper into Linux. I was gonna install CentOS on my home server but I got busy :\

Manjaro is a bit too heavy for me, I prefer Antergos, ArchAnywhere or ArchBang.

I use Antergos Openbox + Grsecurity + ArchStrike - Openbox + XFCE

Get Antergos and install ArchStrike or BlackArch repos.

Of course it's not an Arch installation if everything goes smoothly...

Smh, just used Rufus to create a bootable USB stick with the arch linux ISO and all I get is a FreeDOS interface when I boot up. Not sure how a free dos prompt shows up on my screen when I have the official linux iso file downloaded and double checked.

I currently am using Windows 10, also I use a couple win10 backdoor removers, https://www.winprivacy.de/english-home/ is one I use, not sure if it does much, better than nothing.

I spent 5 days attempting to bypass the "Only install drivers for your manufacturer" to download an intel patch for crashing issues. I only use windows for school. FML

I hate Windows 10 because it has built in ads, forced updates, and phones home to Microsoft with all kinds of information that is anything but the "anonymous" diagnostics stuff they say it is. It's also closed source and has terribly inconsistent UI. I can't really speak on driver issues since I've never ran it outside of a VM. I strongly encourage you to install a GNU/Linux distribution that respects your freedoms, or at the very least go back to Windows 7 or a previous version of Windows.
