Never heard of PureVPN so that is only personal opinion and probably isn't the best VPN but if it is will someone more reputable prove me wrong?

The issue here is that you are trusting your ACTUAL data with a provider that you don't pay. Therefore, you are not a customer of theirs and are violating their rules, nullifying any guarantees they may offer.

Tor is considerably slower than any (reasonable) VPN service and is overkill in alot of cases. Also, it's hard to trust all the exit nodes in Tor's network.

lol well there are circuits so its not like you connect directly to an exit. Tor is the best for anonymity. VPNs dont provide anonymity. You say it's hard to trust Tor, how can you trust a VPN?!?!
