I feel like school restricted me a lot. I knew what I wanted to do from the age of 13 and missed a lot of school to pursue it. I'm now working at one of the largest companies in IT which I wouldn't of been able to do this early in my life I stayed at school.

You need to go in school if you want a proper job of course.

"Those who are ignorant to history are doomed to repeat it"
Keep that in mind for a few minutes while I explain my position.
School isn't necessary, but it is a large opportunity that most people pass up or don't take seriously enough. Many people aren't born with special talents that will take them places in life, and school offers them a chance to make it via a set system. I'm don't have any special talents, except for maybe running, but I'm not so good I could make it as a professional athlete. However, because I applied myself in school, if I wanted to in two years' time I could be going to college for free (getting paid to go, actually) at the United States Naval Academy. After four years I can come out with a degree of my choice, and a steady job in the military for at least five years. After that, I can pursue the field I studied for in college.
That's a path I could take simply because I kept my average above a 95 and wrote letters to congressmen. It's probably not the one I will take, because that's not all I want out of life. I won't pour my dreams out here and annoy you guys, don't worry.
My point is, no, school is not necessary to be successful in life, but if you want to take the safe path, that's the one you should travel. You can pick up life skills later on, but you'll only get credits for AP World History once.

In my opinion there are some classes that seem fairly pointless to me and I can't really say anything for them... There are some classes such as Mathematics that are important though.

(I may be one of those people that barely know what taxes are)

I believe school is somewhat important. I've been told that school only teaches you how to learn. You aren't supposed to actually remember all the Greek gods or whatever. Same with high school. High school was literally the most boring thing ever. I barely did my homework (none of my teachers cared), I never studied, and I got straight A's. But I also believe that some good things are taught, like how to write a good paper or essay, how to do math/algebra/geometry/whatever, and science class. But that's my opinion.

I can't really say much about this topic as i dropped out at 16 (Legal age to do so here in NZ) but in saying so as a lot of people know here i have not had a problem with money etc i have just got into my career and will be starting it in February. Just because i left school because it bored the shit out of me does not mean i will fail in life. People are great at making assumptions and creating stereotypes just because someone left school does not make them stupid foolish or that they will never go anywhere. My father left at 15 was extremely poor as a child had never seen the gates of a university and has an 8 digit bank account. If you have a goal or a dream and have the determination to get to it and succeed and better yourself, whats stopping you?

I am not sure to be honest. I got kicked out of my school because I smoked weed, I was doing good in my classes and doing my shit but they kicked me out of being a stoner. I loved going to school, learning shit for free right? But the systems these days are just not doing good, the teachers are getting worse and worse and at this time it is going to get worse.
I like it but I do not think it is necessary.

I personally don't think school is necessary as the rate technology advances and tthe many ways of making money online can allow many people to make a profit off of doing ething like producing a game or building and selling computers. Everything that i loates and more can be done online without school.
