Personally I would've gotten a Wii instead just because it's newer, sort of, and it's compatible with both Wii and GameCube games, but nothing beats having a classic gaming console.

I've got a GameCube still from about 12 years ago. still works good and have a shit load of games (including super smash bros melee)

I'm in vacation in Austin, Texas with my girlfriend right now and they have a old games store. I went in the other day and they were selling GameCubes with wires and one controller for $40. I'm thinking about buying it.
The only reason I didn't is because they didn't have super Mario sunshine
