Mfw OS X and Ubuntu is very fucking similar, especially if you throw a os x yosemite theme on it.

Then go that route? Idk. Never was a fan of OS X, or any of the mac OS. Found Elementary OS to be decent though so figured I'd recommend it. Bout as much of a fan of Ubuntu as I am of OS X though. So wouldn't really know much about its latest versions.

I feel like trying something new. Linux won't do it I don't think. I'm gonna do some research on Hackintosh this weekend, but until then I'll see if elementary is worth using.
Good thing with Linux, can always boot it from a flash drive and if you don't like it, well you didn't waste your time installing it on your computer.

Well true that. Fun thing, I had Ubuntu with the mac theme on my laptop SSD and yesterday when I put it in my Main rig to wipe it, I actually booted into the OS installation I had on the ssd from the laptop.
That's pretty neat, just take out the ssd, put it in another computer and keep going.

I have a bunch of spare 50GB-250GB HDD with an assortment of files, and operating systems. Can come in handy with some tech situations, and of course I have a many flash drives with various installations of linux. I like how lightweight, and versatile linux is.

I'd personally recommend Windows 10, as there is no real downside to the OS. Other than that, then I'd recommend the newer OSX versions.

I might just try to install El Capitan on the laptop. It might work, but 1am right now so a bit late for experiments.

I'd go with Ubuntu. I would be using linux if I didn't play a lot of PC games.
