Part of the reason its low content is just that, to prevent those who would eat massive amounts from getting over that point where problems arise.

Alternatively you can also just buy gummi candy with some fruit sugar and it should taste similar.

Ehh, its a matter of preference. I think the sugar free ones are crap, but other people can't tell the difference, so it depends basically.
