RE: Grave Digging Duration Needs Defining In The Rules - Loki123 - 02-27-2016 It should have a clause too where important information into an old thread shouldn't be considered breaking the rules. For example; A post that is to revive or continue a thread that has long died out about the world war should be considered gravedigging. A post that is to revive or continue a thread that has long died out about something informative (tutorial) and to correct something wrong or similar should not be considered gravedigging for the reason it isn't required to post a new thread about the same topic, why else would the search function exist ? So are you closing the thread because it's old, or because the topic is shit/irrelevant? Try thinking before you respond next time. A topic's relevancy and date go hand in hand. If it is old, it is no longer relevant, especially after 4 years. Thats the point you dumb fuck. A topics relevancy has nothing to do with its date of creation. Had someone posted it yesterday, you wouldn't have fucking closed it. It would have been just as fucking relevant! Just because no one had a fucking interest in it until yesterday doesn't mean it's irrelevant. You're one dumb fucking piece of shit you know that right. Disrespect my ass. You want some fucking respect you gotta fucking earn it. Posting dumbass comments like above doesn't fucking deserve respect. Bite me ya fucking cunt. You're more than 4 years old, correct? According to your logic, you have no relevance. That's a pretty fallacious logic. Some of the greatest books ever were written well over 4 years ago, and are still being read today. Some of the best encryption techniques were invented well over 4 years ago, and are still being used today. Some of the greatest songs were created well over 4 years ago, and are still being listened to today. Some of the greatest forum threads were posted well over 4 years ago, and are still being read and posted on today. Do I need to say more? The age of something has nothing to do with its relevance or how useful it is. I hope @The Real Slim Shady wasn't banned over this dumb shit, because he was completely correct. RE: Grave Digging Duration Needs Defining In The Rules - roger_smith - 02-28-2016 jesus tapdancing christ this thread spiraled into a black hole devoid of any and all civility and logic... RE: Grave Digging Duration Needs Defining In The Rules - DarkMuse - 02-28-2016 Let me start out this post by describing my disappointment. You guys had ever opportunity to turn this into a productive thread where you would post your ideas/suggestions and have a good conversation. Instead, some of you decided it was more appropriate to be disrespectful towards administrators and to derail the fuck out of this thread. That's all I'm going to say. My thoughts are as follows: Gravedigging should not be allowed if: - The thread is older than the time given in the rules - The post does not contribute nor does it ask for clarification Examples: Acceptable Posting on an older thread asking for updated links, if no reply after a set time, thread is closed. Asking for further clarification on something said, if no reply, closed! Unacceptable Posting lq posts such as, cool or works! etc Rekindling arguments/flames etc I hope this can bring the discussion back on track. Thanks, DarkMuse RE: Grave Digging Duration Needs Defining In The Rules - mothered - 02-28-2016 (02-28-2016, 01:56 AM)roger_smith Wrote: jesus tapdancing christ this thread spiraled into a black hole devoid of any and all civility and logic... Hence the reason I'm closing It. Staff's decision has been made as to what's considered grave digging. Period. RE: Grave Digging Duration Needs Defining In The Rules - mothered - 03-05-2016 I have opened this thread again, simply for the fact that nothing (duration-wise) has been added to the rules to define grave digging. Evidently, this means members do not know whether they're grave digging, hence non-compliant with forum rules. For example (and rightly so), @"Nana" advised a member that grave digging Is not allowed and as such, to read the rules. The rules state that grave digging Is not allowed, however they don't define on what grounds It's not allowed: ![]() @Skullmeat has Identified grave digging here: https://sinister.li/Thread-Post-Etiquette-Grave-Digging Can we please state that In the rules? RE: Grave Digging Duration Needs Defining In The Rules - Oni - 03-17-2016 There's now a cute little message on threads that are more than 2 months old. We'll start issuing warnings to people that post anyways without reason.
